American Medical Association New Policy to Prevent Future Lead Poisoning

During its annual meeting in Chicago (June 2016), the American Medical Association (AMA) adopted a new policy to protect the public from lead exposure through drinking water. Through it, the AMA advocates for new state and federal laws that require timely reporting of testing results and supports those laws that completely remove lead service lines and plumbing materials. Their policy also urges the EPA to make updates to its current Lead and Copper Rule.
