Ohio Governor John Kasich signed House Bill 512 into law in June, 2016. According to this article. the bill makes Ohio one of the leading states seeking to combat lead contamination in drinking water. The new state law contains a number of notable features, including a notification requirement of two days for customers whose taps contain excess lead, a measure allowing the Ohio EPA to set water testing regulations for communities based on the age of their water system, and a state mandated corrosion control study for any community water system that changes its water source.
