Elevated levels of lead in water present at 32 St. Louis Public Schools

The following two articles highlight the recent discovery of elevated levels of lead in 32 schools within the St. Louis Public School District in St. Louis, Missouri. Private consultants tested all 72 of the district’s school buildings, and found 45 sources that exceeded EPA guidelines. All of the drinking water fountains with high lead levels have been shut off, with a handful of schools receiving bottled water as an alternative drinking source.
